When the stakes are highest and the cameras are rolling, top-tier service members and their families turn to Gonzalez & Waddington, Attorneys at Law. From war crimes and combat zone allegations to international sexual assault cases and classified operations, our team has defended some of the most high-profile military trials in recent history — both inside and outside the courtroom. Our attorneys have been featured in The New York Times, 60 Minutes, CNN, BBC, The Today Show, NPR, and countless international media outlets for their work in defending complex, controversial, and career-ending cases.
We don’t just handle serious cases — we win them. Our reputation has been earned by fighting the toughest UCMJ trials around the world, often under intense political, media, and command pressure. Below are just a few of the many high-profile military cases we’ve taken on and won.
Our attorneys are recognized as thought leaders and trusted advocates in military justice. They have been featured on or quoted by:
If you’re under investigation or charged in a high-profile or politically sensitive case, do not wait. Contact us before the media does. We protect your future — in the courtroom and beyond.
We understand how to control the public narrative. From pre-trial media strategy to closed hearing motions, we aggressively fight to keep our clients’ cases out of the headlines or reframe coverage when exposure is inevitable. We also help our clients manage media inquiries and post-trial PR impact.
Yes. We travel worldwide and have defended military personnel in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and deployed combat zones. We work directly with embassies, SOFA offices, and local counsel when needed to protect our clients globally.
Cases involving war crimes, sexual assault, classified operations, misconduct in combat zones, or military academy cadets often receive significant attention. Even basic cases can become high-profile depending on the unit, timing, or politics involved. We’re experienced in all of them.
Our reputation is built on results. We’ve been in the trenches, in the news, and under fire — and we win. We offer discretion, experience, and an unmatched ability to fight back under pressure. From four-star generals to junior enlisted, our clients trust us to protect what matters most.
Visit ucmjmilitarylaw.com/contact to submit your request. All inquiries are kept strictly confidential. We will respond quickly to review your case and begin protecting your interests immediately.
For decades, our high-profile criminal defense cases have been covered by international media outlets. Often, we are quoted by the media regarding high-profile military justice issues. Our firm also uses the media to our client’s advantage so we can do damage control if necessary. For the majority of our clients, we skillfully keep their names out of the media in order to avoid embarrassment and public humiliation. for example, in a Naval officer rape trial, and the Secret Service – Colombia prostitution scandal, we convinced the news to not include our clients’ names in their reports. However, when the media does take interest in your case, you need a lawyer with experience and connections who can use the media to your advantage.
Many lawyers claim to have been “seen in the news.” Be careful. Some lawyers lie about or exaggerate their media appearances.
